The Origin and purpose of iMPZ

The idia was born at a time when Dubai media city, the existing four year old media hub in Dubai, was growing at much faster space then anticipated. The recipe that works so well for Dubai media city is that is contains a  cluster  of media –related companies in one physical location that provides them with  a suitable infrastructure, and access to each other, for networking opportunities .iMPZ was born out of a desire to create a similar hub, for media production companies.

Location

Located on an area of over 50 million sq.ft of land, iMPZ seeks to create  a cluster environment  for media production companies from across the industry value chain to interact and  collaborates productively.

Situated on the emirates road, closed to the jabal ali port, and recently announced jabal ali airport  city, the new air port  when completed will have a handling capacity of about 120 million passengers annually along with 12 million tones of cargo.

Incentives

The initiative brings a wide range of benefits to the industry. As with companies in Dubai media city companies joining the zone can have 100 per cent ownership. They are exempt from a range of taxes including those for machinery, equipment, raw materials and spare utilities by the industry.

Further home , rules governing media production have been simplified to provide companies in the zone tremendous ease of operations.

-                     An investor’s business will be up  & running  in 1 week

-                     iMPZ provides an environment that  attracts each  and  every  elements  of the media  value chain into the community

-                     iMPZ has developed programs that could  be leveraged by the media community to explore  and expend channel development opportunities.

Printing and publishing Cluster

The zone’s first  production cluster focuses on the printing  and publishing industry, and will provide  world class infrastructure for print production and publishing activities. A part from state – of- the- art communications  and technology facilities, the zone will offer land  and built printing , production and warehousing units

High- quality , thermally –insulated production units  will be made available on annual rental basis .Each unit will be complete facility for production operations with exit for loading  and un loading raw materials and finished goods .

Printing companies will have the option of taking multiple units, or having a combination of both land and production units. Companies joining the will also have the choice of developing their own infrastructure.

Media production cluster

The innovative concept of creating  a cluster of similar business in physical proximity is not a new one to Dubai, and its strategic advantages are proven to pay  off. Co-existing at one location will enable print companies to coordinate production activities efficiently with feeder companies like machinery  and equipment providers and suppliers  of raw materials and spares. For small and medium sized businesses as well, the time and costs involved in sourcing company needs will be considerably reduced, as they can avail of shared services.

Eco-friendly environment

The iMPZ will have an eco-friendly industrial environment .tested concepts and practice will be adopted to recycle waste and enable companies to utilize each other’s by-products instead of disposing them as waste. Renewable energy source will be included in the site’s infrastructure to guarantee reliable and clean power.
