Dubai knowledge villager (DKV) is a vibrant, connected learning community that aims to develop the region’s talent pool and accelerate its move into the knowledge-driven economy.

It was set up to position the Dubai technology and media Free Zone (TECOM) as a centre of excellence in learning and innovation. This free zone was established to complement its TECOM sister entities: Dubai internet city (DIC-the IT hub) and Dubai media city (DMC-the media hub)

Dubai knowledge village is provide the infrastructure to develop, share and apply knowledge. In addition, DKV facilities, promotes, and introduced e-learning in education and training through out the Middle East. In summery, the KV community is striving to create a culture and an access to life long learning.

Location

DKV is located adjacent to the DMC and the DIC Al sofouh Road which runs parallel to sheikh zeyad road. There is access to DKV from sheikh zayed road through DMC & DIC as well

·                    Tutor /coach: Individual coaching students on any curriculum specific to secondary tertiary education.

·                    eLearning adviser: individual offering clearing support services

·                    Researcher: Individual conducting research in various fields

·                    Educational supports services: Individual providing various services for the education system such as entrance exam coaching, curriculum design, application assistance, etc.

·                    Human Resource Advisor: Individual who provides Human Resource services including recruitment and placement.

·                    Innovation center: companies providing consultancy, training, technical support to individual or organization

Commercial Offers

All commercial office spaces are rented at Dhs 110 (US$ 30) per sq.ft.

Open Offices: All open offices are furnished with one executive desk, one chair a storage pedestal and cabinet with key. Each open offices has partition running from floor to shoulder height between desks to offer privacy, within a shared environment.

Rental rates:

Dhs 12,000/-9US$3,266) per desk, charged annually

PLUS

Dhs 5,000/-(US$1,361 ) to be paid in advance for each office. The deposit is refundable provided that the terms of lease agreements have been honored.

Executive Offices: All offices are furnished with one executive desk, a chair, 2 visitor chairs, a storage cabinet and a pedestal. Office sizes range from 91-178sq.ft

Rental rates: Dhs 280/-(US$76)per sq ft, yearly payment plan (3 post-dated cheques required)

In addition to the rent payment, a security deposit of Dhs 10,000/-(US$2,722 ) is to be paid in advanced for each office. The deposit is refundable provided that the terms of the lease agreements have been honored.

Executive Suite: the executive suit (501 sq ft ) offers a full –fledge furnished office environment, within the DKV business centre, which include an Executive office, a private reception area and a small meeting room for six persons.

Rental rates: Dhs 225/-(US$ 61 ) per sq ft monthly payment plan (3 post-dated cheques required)

OR

Dhs 225/-(US$69) per sq.ft, monthly payment plan (12 post-dated cheques required)

In addition to the rent payment, we require a security deposit of Dhs 15,000/- (US$ 4,083) to be paid in advance for the suite. The deposit is refundable provided that the terms of the lease agreement have been honored.

Dhs 3(US$ 0.82) per square foot, per annum.

Staff sponsors ships

Dubai knowledge village ensures hassle-free, single-window  completion of formalities for business partner at the DKV business centre this include the issuance at the DKV ID cards, health cards,  Entry permits, Visit visas, visa extension, and renewals, entry permits and residency permits for dependents and  maids as well

A person sponsored by the business centre are charged an Annual Membership fee, which include the residency visa, The annual membership fee applicable is Dhs 1,660/-(US$452)per person payable on the anniversary of the residence visa issuance.

Business owners:

Shareholders in Dubai knowledge village and registered companies qualify for sponsorship at the DKV business centers so lunge as they working for the company .To clarify, merely holding shares in a FZ LLC does not automatically qualify you for sponsorship. the annual sponsorship charge is Dhs 2,500(US$ 680) is to be paid with every visa application

Employees

Partners operating from DKV business centre are entitled to hire personnel to assist them in the running of their business. The number of  employees allowed depend on the office type and size. The cost of employee sponsorship also varies. Ladies working in the zone who are their on her father’s and husbands sponsorships may apply for non- sponsored staff ID card and count this towards total allotment of employees. the employees sponsor ship fee is an annual charge

Free lancers do not quality as employees.

1   Student Residency package (new students):

2       Students residency package renewal

           Include entry permit, ID card, Medical fitness, Health card & residence permit

·                    2 passport copies

·                    8 color photographs

·                    DKV training institute course fee receipt(Copy)

·                    Urgent processing :requires an additional Dhs150 (US$ 41)

·                    Residence packages for students are valid for 1 year.

3       Students Entry permits (Renewal)

Requirements

·                    Original Entry permit

·                    Company letter requesting renewal

·                    Fee: Dhs 280 (US$76)

·                    The renewal is valid for 60 days from the date of issue.

4        Residence stamping after arrival:

          Requirements

·                    Original passport and 2 copies

·                    Original Entry permit and two copies

·                    Fee: Zero

It is advisable to submit the above within seven days of arrival in Dubai, residence stamping should be completed within 60 days to avoid an over stay fine

5   Student visit Visa ( new Student )

             Requirements:

·                    Entry permit from dully filled and designed by authorized signatory

·                    2 passport copies

·                    DKV training institute course fee receipt (copy )

·                    Fee: Dhs 275 (US$ 75 )

·                    Urgent processing :requires an additional Dhs 150 (US$ 41)

Visit visa has validity of 60 days from the date of issue and an additional 60 days from date of arrival in Dubai

6         Visit Visa (renewal)

            Requirements

·                    Original visit visa with the arrival stamp

·                    Original passport

·                    Company letter requesting for extension and explanation for extension

·                    Fee Dhs 800 (US$ 218)

·                    Urgent processing :additional Dhs 150 (US$)

Visit visa can be extended for an additional 30 days pending approval, however application for extension should be made one week before the 60 days elapses

     7     Visit visa (Extension) 

             Requirements

·                    Original visit visa with the arrival stamps

·                    Original passport

·                    Company letter requesting for extension and explanation for extension

·                    Fee: Dhs 800 (US$218)

·                    Urgent processing : Additional Dhs 150 (US$41 )

     8   Transit visa (14 days visa)

             Requirements:

·                    Entry permits from dully filled and signed by the authorized signatory

·                    2 passport copies

·                    DKV training institute course fee receipt (copy)

·                    Transit visa will be submitted at the air port .Flight details to be provided before arrival

·                    Fee Dhs 200 (US$ 54) for normal processing

·                    Urgent processing requires an additional Dhs 150 (US$ 41)

A transit visa is valid for 14 days from date of issue. after arrival, the guest has 14 days to reside in Dubai but must exit on the 15^th  day to avoid overstay fine of Dhs 100 (US$ 27) per day

9          96-hours visa

This service is currently under negotiation and has not been finalized

Exclusively available to business centre partners is the ability to operate as free lancer professional. The freelancer permit identifies you as a sole practitioner and enable

you to conduct  in your business in your birth name as opposed to a brand name

University license

Available to universities whose approval has been granted to locate at KV

Establishing a Dubai Knowledge village company

DKV offers business partner quick and incorporation services to provide them with the legal structure required to set up their business. weather the venture is new or existing, small or large, Dubai knowledge village insurance that a business partner’s first step in establishing themselves in the community are successful.

Dubai knowledge village provides, for a fee specimen copies of a key legal documents like the memorandum of association (MOA) A articles of association (AOA) , and board resolution

Prospective clients based overseas can send of attorney, the documents have to be notarized by notary public in the country of original and attested by the UAE embassy /consulate or embassies of any country recognized by the UAE

Once the basic formalities have been completed, DKV will issues the certificate of incorporation and sharing certificate within the one hour.

The following documents are required from the applicant before an incorporation certificate and license and license can be issued. They will need to be notarized and attested 9as indicated)and KV reserves the right to ask for extra attestation by the UAE embassy or any embassies where necessary .

Types of company legally allowed operating in the Dubai Knowledge village:

Business partners can incorporate in three ways:

Branch of foreign company (any offshore company should be at least two years old to be incorporated by Dubai Knowledge village )

Branch of UAE ed company (Including other UAE free zone licenses) or as a free zone limited liability company (FZLLC)
